Client: Rough Magic Theatre Company Winter 2021
I was thrilled to hear Rough Magic was giving All the Angels by Nick Drake its Irish premiere in Christmas 2021. This joyous play tells the story of the Handel’s Messiah, from its fraught birth to its glorious outcome; a tale about the complicated, comedic business of putting on a show and the transformative power of music.
As a Christmas show with a six week run during a pandemic, the box office targets were ambitious. I knew the most useful digital marketing content would be a trailer (shot during previews), using the same music and end card that reflected the above-the-line marketing – radio ads and IPA posters.
The trailer was viewed thousands of times across social platforms, and made for very effective Twitter, Facebook and Instagram ads before the run began.
Once reviews were in, I created another short trailer with pull quotes and music from the show, for further targeting of audiences on social.
As extra shows were added to the original sold out dates, I created this short square teaser to get the word out.
